The theme for National Inclusion Week 2024 (23rd - 29th September), is ‘Impact Matters’, and centres around understanding, identifying, and measuring impact on marginalised groups and taking action that will create genuine, and sustainable change that matters.

Our 8 GC EDI networks will be celebrating the week, showcasing their impact and ways in which they can highlight the diversity and inclusivity that exists within GC.

We've continued to encourage colleagues to demonstrate the traits which will help GC become a more inclusive and diverse workplace. Though our new  Dignity at Work toolkits launched over the summer months, we've built a repository of tips and approaches for all colleagues to think about and put into practice.

Each kit focuses on a specific skill or trait which, when put into practice, can help embed and promote Dignity at Work in our workplace. Launched so far are toolkits on:

Video celebrating our EDI commitments from the past year
Date: Friday 20th September
Format: Video

At GC, we know that every colleague brings something unique to their role and – we’re committed to supporting you to thrive throughout your time with us. Without our EDI Networks, our organisation wouldn’t be as an inclusive a place to work, as it is now.

Our networks contribute to our culture and help to create a welcoming feeling. We want you all to come to work as a whole-person – and that means you must feel comfortable doing just that.

By listening to you, and through our colleague data, we have a better understanding of how we can support you – we want to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and remove any potential barriers that some under-represented communities may face.

With your help and the support of our eight EDI networks, over the past 12 months we’ve made some real progress and done some fantastic things. In GC News on 20th September, we’ll share a short video where Chairs from our EDI Networks will showcase our EDI achievements from the past 12 months.

Each year we measure across all our workforce EDI data, which helps us to continually improve and make sure we’re supporting our colleagues, representing the communities we work in, and tailoring the services we provide.

Since 2019/20 we’ve enhanced our approach to EDI, we’ve made a significant shift to become a more diverse and inclusive organisation – and we’ll continue to keep this high on our agenda.

In GC News on 20th September we’ll showcase our 2024 statistics.
