The End of Year performance review process and the Mid-Year review for Education and Skills will open on Monday 22nd April.

The end of year process provides the opportunity for colleagues to look back on their performance in the past year, set objectives for 2024/25, and discuss any professional development and career aspirations.

The performance review window will be open from Monday 22nd April to Friday 21st June. Colleagues will have until Friday 17th May 2024, to complete and submit their self-assessment. This will ensure that managers have sufficient time to review the self-assessment, meet with you and submit the manager review.

What should colleagues do?:

  1. Book your End of Year/Mid-Year (GC Ed and Skills only) review meeting with your manager as soon as possible.
  2. Complete and submit your self-assessment at least 2 working days prior to the performance review meeting and/or by the 17th May at the latest. You can use this 16-box grid as a tool to rate how you have performed against your objectives and how your behaviours are aligned with GC values. Reflect on what your career aspirations are (short and long term), and what development needs you may have.
  3. Attend the performance review meeting.
  4. Review your End of Year or Mid-Year review after it has been submitted by your line manager.

PAL System - Learning

We're running 20 minutes on PRDs and on objective setting – these will take place between now and June and can be booked through the PAL learning calendar. If you are unable to attend these and want a simple refresher, see below some other materials you can access easily if you are unclear on what to do:

If you have any questions about the process, the L&D team will be able to answer your queries.

PAL is located in My Apps, when using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your browser.

NOTE: If you are still in your probation, you are not required to complete the End of Year or Mid-Year Reviews, please continue to have regular conversations with your manager. Once your probation has been signed off you will join the next performance review cycle on PAL. If you have any queries, please raise a ticket with the HR Service Desk.
