Women's Health

GC is committed to promoting good health and wellbeing by creating an open, inclusive, and supportive culture. We want to shine a spotlight on women, non-binary and trans people’s health, and how different health conditions can affect them.

Mark Hughes, GC Group Chief Executive:
“In recent years, the awareness and knowledge has grown about endometriosis and other health conditions affecting women, as more women speak out about the debilitating impact this and other health conditions can have on day-to-day life. It’s important that we have an open environment at GC, where colleagues feel comfortable in raising difficulties they are experiencing and ask for support and flexibility where they need it. I hope at GC we can continue to learn more about this and other health conditions during endometriosis awareness month and create a more supportive environment, in the longer term.”

Endometriosis Action Month 2024 – colleague experiences

Endometriosis Action Month focuses on raising awareness of the common symptoms of endometriosis and improving understanding of the condition to ensure that those experiencing symptoms, their friends and family and their healthcare team know to ask ‘could it be endometriosis?’ To mark the month in 2024, two colleagues kindly shared blogs about their experiences with endometriosis and how it affects them to raise awareness amongst our colleagues.

If you would like to get involved and help support women in the workplace through our EDI networks, you can join:

  • Our Health & Wellbeing EDI Network which provides peer-to-peer support and covers all aspects of health and wellbeing, and includes a Menopause Support group. They encourage colleagues to become active members and allies of their network and share their personal experiences to help increase people’s understanding, compassion, and challenge attitudes.

  • Our EDI Women’s network which raises awareness of women’s challenges in and out of the workplace and promotes gender equality. It supports women at the different stages of their careers, helping them to grow themselves and their career and also encouraging them to empower other women through coaching and mentoring within the GC community.
