Working Well: Support to Succeed is a programme delivered by GC Employment for Greater Manchester residents who want to build their skills, confidence, and community. Individuals have access to a range of activities, classes, courses, and workshops including digital skills, finance and budgeting help, sports and physical activity, career planning and much more.
Last month, the programme hosted their One Destination event for both existing programme participants and prospective participants to find out more about the programme, speak to potential employers, and find volunteering and training opportunities.
The event was hosted at the Friend’s Meeting House in Manchester and had an amazing turn out, with over 150 people attending and finding out about how to meet their goals and reach their next destination.
Attendees had the opportunity to plant seeds and sample nature workshops with Sow the City, speak to exhibitors about available opportunities, and chat to the programme team about further support.
They had 16 exhibitors attend including Clarity Housekeeping, Education & Skills, EFL, GC Employer Engagement Team, GC Integration Team, GC Tourism & Hospitality Hub, GM Feds, GM Training Hub - primary and social care, NSL, Sisk, Sow the City, Teleperformance, The Lab Project, Trafford Council, United for Ukraine and Volunteer Centre Manchester.
“It was great to advertise our provision and help people know what support we are able to offer. It was helpful to learn about everyone’s different goals and be able to signpost them to the most appropriate provision as a result.” - The Lab Project, exhibitor
“The event gave us the opportunity to chat to lots of people who share an interest in gardening and nature and invite them along to our regular sessions. These sessions allow people to experience the therapeutic benefits of nature, meet new people and gain new skills.” – Sow the City, exhibitor
