UPDATE: 8th November: The PAL training at the event on the 4th December is now fully booked, but there's a waiting list should you still like to let us know that you'd like to attend.
On Monday 4th of December 2023, to coincide with the UN COP28 Climate Negotiations in Dubai, we're holding the biggest ever climate education-and-action training event.
And you can be a part of it!
The Action Day is open to all GC colleagues and we'll be joining thousands of people from around the world who are participating and completing a days’ worth of Carbon Literacy Training.
Sustainability and environmental concerns are increasingly becoming issues that are affecting our clients and service users. It's been recognised that, across GC, client facing colleagues don't feel conversationally fluent on the topic.
This training will help you to facilitate these conversations, as well as help GC advocate better through our service development and delivery. GC also recognises that colleagues are increasingly looking for support from the organisation on actions GC and individuals can take – both as a leader in this space, but also to support GC with its own net zero target.
Why get involved?
- Develop a greater understanding of the climate crisis and your footprint.
- Understand the different ways in which you can reduce your carbon footprint as an individual and as part of GC.
- Help create a positive change.
- Develop a strong understanding of the impacts of climate change on the wider world and understanding climate injustice.
- Work to create lasting change and hope for all.
Listen to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall as to why carbon literacy is important.
If you would like to take part in this event on Monday 4th December 2023, 9.30am – 4pm, King’s House Conference Centre, Manchester, please register through the PAL system. Dates for future Carbon Literacy Training are also on PAL.
