As you’ll be aware, the Government has today announced that Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Yorkshire will remain in the Very High Alert level, while the Liverpool City Region and Cheshire stay in High Alert level. Between 23 and 27 December you will be able to form a Christmas bubble with two other households. You can read more about the Tier restrictions here and Christmas bubbles here. However you choose to celebrate, I would urge you to take precautions over the festive period to keep you and your families safe.
Thanks to everyone who joined the webinar yesterday, I hope you found it informative. If you were unable to join, please spare some time before the break to watch it here.
I hope you enjoyed the competition theme we had running through the webinar which was ABBA. Steve Wilkinson from GC Business Growth Hub, managed to guess the theme within seconds of my first clue. Either he is a big fan, or I was a little too obvious to start off.
There were 36 references to ABBA in total (10 from myself, 1 from Carla, 2 from Vicky, 4 from Paul and 19 from Colin – which I’m still questioning). Well done to Lynne Sheppard from GC Employment for guessing the closest number of references at 35 and Veronica Dawson from GC International Trade who listed out the most correct references (15). Steve, Lynne and Veronica will each receive a Christmas Hamper, please get in touch to sort out delivery.
As you’ll know by now, tomorrow is the day we are celebrating Christmas across the Group. The Social Committee sent a reminder earlier to submit your entries for the competition categories and your quiz teams, so I hope you all managed to share these earlier today.
The GC Christmas celebrations will kick off at 10am with the announcements of the competition winners followed by the GC Big Fat Christmas Quiz of the Year starting at 10:30am. Both calendar invites are attached. Then from 11:30am you can celebrate within your teams.
As a final note, I would like to reiterate what I said in the webinar, thank you for all your hard work through this ever-changing and challenging year. We have lots of opportunities to look forward to in 2021. I hope you enjoy a much-deserved break and for those who celebrate it, Merry Christmas.
Happy New Year all,
Mark
