Social Prescribing Day is an annual celebration of the people, organisations and communities who make social prescribing happen. Since 2019, thousands of local and national organisations, link workers, medical professionals, academics and students have taken part across the country.
The link between the importance of health & wellbeing and securing sustainable employment is clear.
Throughout Social Prescribing Day on Thursday 14th March, GC Employment will be running a wide range of externally-facing activity and workshops around wellbeing, health inequalities and social inclusion across our justice and employment provisions.
- On the Wednesday 13th March, at Salford, each person will receive a 121 digital skill support with Corinth Training. Participants will be supported with health and wellbeing online tasks such as online registering with GP, locating dental practices, submitting housing applications, registering with online banking
- On Thursday 14th March, we'll have Endorphins wellbeing sessions in Doncaster and Barnsley F2F at 10am for participants and colleagues
- On Thursday 14th March, Trafford will be running a Coffee Morning discussing the Social Prescribing Service and Health Inequalities for those experiencing unemployment and the support available in GM
Other activities include - Wellbeing Workshops, Conversation Clubs focusing on accessing the NHS, Arts and Crafts and Wellbeing/Nature Walks.

Aspire in Recruitment will also be publishing a blog on the importance of employee wellbeing and how the Social Prescribing Service could benefit productivity.
Throughout March we'll run a Health and Wellbeing Survey for participants to be better inform partnerships and individual need across provision - this'll launch on Friday 1st March.
