It's International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March. It's a global occasion that acknowledges women’s achievements in various areas such as social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. It's a significant day to celebrate women’s achievements, promote gender equality, advocate for positive change, and support organisations that empower women.
Across GC, there are a number of events which colleagues can get involved in:

GC Employment Activity Hub events
The Activity Hubs teams in GC Employment have several International Women’s Day events taking place.
They'll be celebrating all things Female! The day will be for colleagues and participants that identify as female to celebrate a history of female role models, engage in wellbeing and self-care workshops and an opportunity to meet with partnership organisations across South Yorkshire. They'll have art workshops on the day, as well as celebrating the art created by our female participants across South Yorkshire.
Any female GC colleagues are welcome to attend - this is due to the nature of the programmes that these sessions are being delivered at, where we offer female-only sessions as safe spaces for women at the Activity Hubs.
