You’ll have probably spotted in Mark Hughes’ New Year Message that we’re launching our new Colleague Intranet – the Colleague Hub!
It’s not an upgrade of our old 1990’s Intranet, it’s a new intranet that has been developed using SharePoint. We hope this will make it more intuitive and accessible to your needs and will become your one-stop-shop for everything you’ll need to know and do during your time at GC.
You’ll be able to find out the latest news from across our organisation, and it’ll also provide you with support tools to help you do your job, promote our GC values, engage with colleagues, and support your wellbeing.
Before we fully launch next month, we’ll be providing access to members of our Equality Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) and Employee Consultative Committee (ECC) networks, as well as some HR, IT and Marketing & Communications colleagues to ‘road-test’ the new Colleague Hub. Their feedback will be used to refine the site before sharing it with all colleagues later next month and we’ll include an ongoing feedback mechanism to ensure everyone can provide their comments, which will be vital as we start thinking about phase 2. More on that to follow!
What is the Colleague Hub replacing?
Once the Colleague Hub is up-and-running with all colleagues, we’re planning to wind-down our Legacy Intranet site. There are a couple of systems which link from that, such as Expenses and the PAF/ AAF system, so we’ll need to keep parts of it accessible until they’re updated.
We’ll also eventually turn-off Our Working Way. We’ve been working with content owners across the business over the past three months to make sure that all the content and pages that you’ll need and regularly use have been moved over into the Colleague Hub.
The Colleague Hub will continue to link through to the current ‘Policies & Procedures’ and ‘Manager Portal’ SharePoint sites for now – we’re planning to move both these sites into the Hub at a later date.
The new site will also include a News Hub, so that’ll be your new place to visit to find out what’s happening across GC.

Don’t worry, we’ll still have GC News which is published every fortnight. Please make sure you read it to find out what’s changing and when.
Once fully live, the Colleague Hub will be the first thing you see when you open your Web-browser so it will be front and centre when you log-on.
