At GC, we understand, recognise and challenge any form of discrimination in the workplace.
We respect and value all LGBTQ+ people and their diverse backgrounds, including across intersecting identities such as LGBTQ+ people of all ethnic communities, neurodivergent and disabled LGBTQ+ people and LGBTQ+ women.
Through our LGBTQ+ EDI Network, we continue to educate, inform and encourage allyship across all colleagues within GC. Part of the network's ongoing commitment and our wider support for our communities is our attendance at annual Pride celebrations.
Pride has grown exponentially in its 50+ year history as a movement for queer liberation. But the fight is far from over, and it's important that we're not complacent. Hate crimes based on sexual orientation have increased by 112% within the last 5 years, with crimes against trans individuals increasing by 11%.
This year, GC are officially taking part in the Manchester Pride event on Saturday 24th August
Our attendance has been organised by GC's LGBTQ+ EDI Network and all colleagues are welcome to attend – whether you're part of the communities, or an LGBTQ+ ally.
Attend if you want to:
- Show your support for LGBTQ+ colleagues
- Become more involved with the EDI networks across GC
- Show your support for the LGBTQ+ communities that GC work with
- Celebrate Pride!
As official spaces are arranged by the organisers of the marches and events,

More about the events
GC has an ongoing connection and working relationship with Manchester Pride, collaborating with Christopher Owen of Manchester Pride on many campaigns and support for our LGBTQ+ EDI network, as well as accrediting GC with Good Practice in the All Equals Charter.
Participating in Manchester Pride is a fantastic opportunity for GC to champion inclusivity. You can read more about the history of Manchester Pride here.
The Manchester Pride Parade is the city's biggest parade, with tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ people and allies gathering to march through the city for equality, grinding the city to a halt with thousands of people lining the streets to take in the spectacular sea of colours. If there is ever an opportunity to shout loud and proud about who we are and what our values are, it is at the Parade!
Further Pride events in more locations can be found here.
