Our Jobs for Hongkongers team recently took a trip to the Lunar New Year Cultural Fun Day in Warrington- both to have some fun and also spread the word about the programme.

The event included all sorts of exciting activities, from calligraphy to special performances – plus a delicious spread of festive food for everyone to enjoy.

The national Ministry of Housing, Community and Local Government (MHCLG) Jobs for Hongkongers programme is here to support people from Hong Kong find work and settle into life within England.

It aims to support eligible people from Hong Kong with employability skills and English language support through a digital and telephone service.

About attending the event, Uliana Musykevych, told us:

"Approximately 300 people attended the event. Besides Jobs for Hongkongers, there were other organisations present, including those focused on volunteering, housing advice, and more. However, our project was the only one specifically dedicated to employment support for Hongkongers.

"I had the opportunity to speak with many job seekers in need of support. I handed out leaflets to everyone and explained in detail who we are and how we can help."
