At GC, we embrace inclusion and diversity, and want all of our colleagues to feel safe and comfortable in the workplace.
It's International Pronouns Day on 16th October. It's celebrated annually on the third Wednesday of October, and is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of respecting individuals’ chosen pronouns and fostering an inclusive environment for all. This day encourages people to ask, share, and use the correct pronouns for themselves and others – promoting a culture of respect and understanding.
With the support and commitment of our LGBTQ+ EDI Network, over the last year, we’ve made some important changes to how we work, including adding the option of putting your pronouns on your ID badge. Although this is a small action, it'll have a massive impact for the LGBTQ+ community and normalising the conversation of discussing your pronouns.
Why are pronouns important?
Pronouns are an important way of expressing part of your identity – using the correct pronouns for an individual shows that you respect and acknowledge their identity, and you contribute to creating a positive and inclusive environment, whether that’s in or outside of work.
