GC has won the contract to deliver the Creating Future Opportunities (CFO) Evolution programme in Yorkshire and the Humber from August 2024 until at least April 2027.
The CFO Evolution programme supports people in prison and people on probation, providing them with opportunities to engage in a range of activities, with the aim of promoting social reintegration, improving wellbeing, and reducing reoffending rates.
We'll also work alongside Career Connect as a key sub-contractor to deliver services in the North West.
Details of the new contract
CFO Evolution will build on the success of previous CFO services – CFO3 and CFO Activity Hubs – and complement existing HMPPS provision. A recent Justice Data Lab report found that CFOs are proven to deliver a reduction in re-offending rates.
Alongside our key partners, Community Links and St. Giles Trust, we'll provide comprehensive, individually tailored support to help people in prison and on probation access mainstream services, with the aim of reinforcing the value of leading law-abiding lives. These services will include employment, education, and training support, in addition to activities designed to promote positive family and community interactions.
We'll deliver CFO Evolution at 11 prisons, three community hubs (Leeds, Doncaster, and Hull), and three satellite sites (Huddersfield, Sheffield, and Bradford) across the region.
New opportunities
The new contract win will also provide new and different opportunities for colleagues, as the scope and breadth of delivery changes.
Responding to the news, the Managing Director of GC Employment, Michelle Leeson, said:
“We are delighted to have been given a new opportunity to deliver vital CFO services in Yorkshire. Our award-winning CFO Activity Hubs have demonstrated just how important this kind of support can be for people on probation and in prison, as well as to their communities.”
