Walking With The Wounded - colleagues raise £600

In the run-up to Armed Forces Day, on Thursday 27th June, 11 of our colleagues volunteered and fundraised with Walking With The Wounded – on their ‘Longest Day Challenge’ to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Organised by GC's Veterans & Reservists Equality EDI Network, they undertook a 10 mile fundraising walk across Manchester.

They raised over £600 for Walking With The Wounded – who provide employment, care, housing and mental health support to those who have served in the Armed Forces.

Help Lucy Roue raise money to support Mind

Lucy Roue
, Marketing & Communications Manager for Made Smarter
is doing the York 10K run in August to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity.
Lucy explains why she's decided to fundraise for Mind:

"Mind is a charity close to my heart after suffering my own mental health battles for a number of years. Now that I’m in a better place, healthy and happy again, I’d like to do my bit to help others who find themselves in need of extra support.

"A 10K is going to be tough for me (as I’ve signed up fairly late and vaped too much), but it’s a challenge I’m up for, in the name of a great cause. Please donate and help empower others to overcome their darkest days."

The United for Ukraine team are participating in the Shine Night Walk in Manchester

Marianna Vaszilyiv, Lead key Worker on the United for Ukraine initiative, and other members of the team are excited to share that they're participating in the Shine Night Walk in Manchester, walking 10K for a great cause.

Shine Night Walk is a chance to light up the city’s streets, walk for loved ones, walk for future generations, walk with friends old and new – to raise vital funds for life-saving research. In the last 50 years, they've helped double cancer survival in the UK.

The 10K events take place across the UK this autumn, passing famous landmarks and lighting the streets.
