Earlier this month, our Education and Skills marketing team, had the privilege of spending a day with the enthusiastic BSc Business Management learners. This visit was part of the marketing module on their course – designed to give students real-world insights into the exciting field of marketing.

The team shared their extensive knowledge and personal experiences in the marketing industry throughout the day. They discussed the various aspects of their roles, from strategic planning and market research to creative campaign development and digital marketing. The learners were particularly fascinated by the stories of how each team member carved their path in the marketing world.

About the experience and presenting on the day, Reneé Bell, Digital Marketing Specialist from the Education and Skills marketing team told us:

"It was a fast-paced day, packed with real-life case studies and we made it interactive so the students could get involved. I talked about some of my own experiences, and I couldn't wait to find out about how our learners got to go where that are now. All of their different backgrounds and career dreams made me feel warm in side, especially when they told us why they joined the BSc Business Management course, and how business and strategy ticked their boxes.

"We don't often get to do talks like this, so I didn't want to miss out. Along with my colleague Lynette Grindley, we talked to the students about our 'Stronger Together' GC Value. We explained how collaborating and sharing our know-how makes us a tighter-knit team and also be more creative. I hope that we showed our next generation of marketers that we can all grow stronger when we work together."

The visit not only provided the learners with valuable insights into the marketing profession, but also inspired the marketing team. They left feeling invigorated by the passion and enthusiasm of the students. They were reminded of their own journeys and the reasons why they fell in love with marketing.

Overall, it was a day filled with learning, inspiration, and a mutual exchange of knowledge. The marketing module of the BSc Business Management course was greatly enriched by this experience, leaving both the learners and our marketing team eager for future collaborations.
