Through our six Dignity at Work Toolkits, you can demonstrate the traits which will help GC become a more inclusive and diverse workplace.
Each kit focuses on a specific skill or trait which, when put into practice, can help embed and promote Dignity at Work in our workplace:
- Toolkit 1: Active Listening
- Toolkit 2: Mutual Trust & Respect
- Toolkit 3: Safe Spaces
- Toolkit 4: Meaningful Constructive Challenge
- Toolkit 5: Empowering people
- Toolkit 6: Fairness & Equity
We've produced two versions of the toolkits: a Colleague version which showcases top tips to help you practice and demonstrate a specific skill and a People Manager version, which provides a little more detail on what you can do to help embed and practice the trait in your team - and also includes some signposts to learning and development opportunities.
Tracey Roberts, Team Leader - Training and Training and Curriculum | Centre Manager for The Works, told us how she found out about the toolkits and how they're being used across her team:
"A colleagues from our HR team attended our wider Education & Skills team meeting - where they promoted Dignity at Work. I already knew about Dignity at Work because I’m a member of the Embrace EDI Network.
"After this session, during our managers meeting, it was great to hear that one of the managers said that she had used the new Dignity at Work Toolkits in her KIT with one of her team - and allocated some of the suggested training from the kits to them.
"Our line manager unfortunately missed the HR presentation in the meeting and he asked me more about it. So I explained, and I also pointed out the tools displayed around my office - which I refer to when my team need a reminder. So now, as an action for the rest of our managers, we've asked them to add the training suggested in the toolkits to all colleagues across the team."
