Our Business Growth Hub Business Development and Partnerships team volunteered at Trafford-based The Bread and Butter Thing, helping to provide food to struggling neighbourhoods across the UK.

They used one of their two GC Volunteering Days (our volunteering policy, Volunteer2day, allows you to take up to two days leave in any one-year rolling period to volunteer).

Josh Harris, Business Development Executive told us:

"I had the eye opening experience of volunteering at The Bread and Butter Thing based in Trafford Park with the BD&P Team at the GM Business Growth Hub. It’s amazing to see how much work is being done by organisations like this to help support local communities as well as reducing the amount of food that goes to waste.

"Sue and the team at the Trafford Park depot are brilliant and definitely gave us lots of fulfilling work to do.

"Was the work hard? Yes it was, but it was also a great way of getting exercise, team building, fun and most importantly knowing that we had all played a small part in something positive for people across Greater Manchester."

Deb Sullivan, Alumni Network Executive said:

"We came, we saw, we sorted! We spent a fantastic day volunteering at The Bread and Butter Thing in Trafford Park. Their mission is to unleash the power of food and ignite long-lasting change in struggling neighbourhoods across the UK.

"We're so happy that we got to play a small part in that today. Thanks to Amy, the mighty Sue and the rest of the TBBT team for making us feel so welcome."
