CFO Sheffield Activity Hub serve Christmas Dinner to participants

The CFO Sheffield Activity Hub celebrated Christmas as a team, serving a Christmas dinner to participants, having a music and dance session, games and a Christmas quiz.

Participants prepared the dinner and everyone sat down as a collective and ate together, reminiscing about Christmas traditions, celebrating achievements through the year and supporting one another as they recognised that Christmas is not always easy for everyone.

With donations from Sheffield Shoebox appeal, they were able to make sure that those in need could leave with a gift. With the help of participants, their cooking group ensured they had frozen meals available for participants to take home and eat on Christmas Day.

Teigan Higgins Service Manager - Ministry of Justice said:

"One thing is for sure, the CFO Sheffield Activity Hub has made a difference this year. We have taught participants valuable life skills and in return participants have taught us so much more, we thank everyone who has referred into us, to those that have enrolled with us and to each and every participant that has empowered another participant."

Muakasa Bompetsi, Employment Advisor, Greater Manchester - volunteered with her church and charity, which also fell on the week of their Big Christmas Dinner, which the UCKG Helpcentre held in Manchester. She also volunteered throughout the year in the Soup Kitchen/Food Bank, cooking and preparing hot meals for the community, both for those who are homeless and for those who are in need.

This December she took to the streets, not only to raise funds, but to also raise awareness for the cause and bring a smile to the Mancunian Public She told us:

"Passers-by joined into our signing and dancing antics, which brought a smile not only to their faces but also to ours. I’ll be back volunteering at the foodbank again in the upcoming days as we work to support those in need in any way we can."
