Celebrating colleagues gaining qualifications

Congratulations to the following colleagues who successfully completed their Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualifications in March.

  • Jade Ward – eLearning Lead
  • Guy Boryczko – Skills Development Tutor
  • Paul Bailey –  Skills Development Tutor

They all passed these qualifications with flying colours.

Here's some anonymous feedback from the colleagues about the course, the tutor and competing their qualification:

"I felt that the tutor listened to us. She was very relaxed and made the sessions relatable, fun and interesting. I enjoyed the vast array of activities, so you never felt bored as you were always trying something different. I also liked the fact that the tutor included homework to manage our mental and physical wellbeing (e.g. bird watching walks/mindfulness), as I think this frequently gets overlooked."

"All of the sessions were interesting and enjoyable. The activities we completed as a class were varied and I felt we had some really good discussions around the topics we were studying. The micro-teach session was great, it was fun to partake in each of the short sessions and I learnt a lot from my peers and the different ways they approached teaching during that time."

"I now have a much better understanding of teaching in general and how to put together a good lesson plan. This will really help me to support my colleagues better when it comes to working with them to digitalise their courses and create digital learning content.

"To be honest, just keep it up! I loved the high level of enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for the subject, as this really rubbed off on us as a group."

The following members of staff all started their journey onto the Training, Assessor and Quality Assurance (TAQA) Assessor course – we're looking forward to watching them all progress and develop within their role:

Also, congratulations to Wendy Bent, Team Leader/Lead IQA Digital & IT who has just completed the L3 Cert Mental Health and the Mental Health First Aider course. Wendy chose to do these courses in support of her Designated Safeguarding Officer role.
