On Thursday 26th June, managers from our GC Employment team gathered at the King's House Conference Centre in Manchester. The event provided an opportunity for managers to network, swap good practice, and find out more about the wider organisation.

In the morning, there was a breakout session on colleague retention, followed by a wide-ranging discussion on marketing and communications in the afternoon.

To finish, the GC Employment senior management team oversaw an awards ceremony, recognising the hard work and dedication of colleagues across the business unit and how their contribution aligns to our GC values.

One of the award winners, Fern Goddard, Head of Sales, Greater Manchester Sales Team, told us:

"I was thrilled to receive the "Stronger Together" award at the managers' event, recognising my contributions to our business unit and the wider GC group. This award reflects the efforts of the entire GM sales team, whom I'm incredibly proud of and would like to say thank you to. The team consistently strives to be innovative and work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and customers to achieve shared goals and objectives."

Also a recipient of an award, Gemma Batchelor, Service Manager, Restart St. Helens and Preston, explained what the event and the award meant to her:

"I was delighted to receive an award at the GC Employment managers event. Do The Right Thing is the GC value which has always meant the most to me. It guides the service we provide to our customers and how we treat our fellow team members. It's about coming to work each day to be your best and ensuring we are a trusted partner for our commissioners to deliver excellent results. Doing the right thing is not always taking the easy option and this last year has presented several challenges for my teams on Restart in Preston and St Helens. I’m really proud of how they have pulled together and the difference they make to the lives of our participants."
