I’m Tim Jeffrey and I’m a Partnership & Integration Manager for GC Employment, based in Sheffield – and I’m also one of the Co-Chairs of GC's Religion & Faith EDI network.

I became a Christian when I was 18 years old, and ever since, Holy Week and Easter has been a significant time of the year for me and my family – as it is for billions of Christians all over the world.

It’s a bit of a rollercoaster week. It starts with celebrating Jesus being welcomed into Jerusalem as a King on Palm Sunday, before him later being arrested and executed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

The week culminates with Easter Sunday when Christians' celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. These are the central and most important events of the Christian faith and still remembered nearly 2,000 years after they actually happened.

Christians throughout the world from different traditions and denominations celebrate these events in many different ways – and even at different times of the year. If you want to know more about the Easter story then I’d recommend going straight to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John found in the New Testament of the Bible.

I can’t speak for all Christians, but this is my 'Day in the life diary' of how me, my family and my Church observed and celebrated Holy Week and Easter this year.
