£10 Contribution Towards a Group Colleague Social Event

Following on from Mark’s email of 3rd November, he advised that all colleagues will be able to claim a £10 contribution towards a group colleague social event between 24th November and 24th December. I, therefore, wanted to set out the process for doing this.

To simplify this process, it has been agreed that the £10 contribution should be claimed locally in all cases and claimed by the Manager/SLT/SMT member responsible for the team event via the expenses system using account code ‘6299 Festive Allowance’. The use of the Virtual Company Credit Card to fund the agreed event is not acceptable.

Managers will need to supply a receipt for food or entertainment. They will also need to specify which colleagues took part in the event. The £10 contribution cannot be used for alcohol and can only be claimed for colleagues attending one event.

It is the responsibility of the manager/SLT/SMT member to ensure that the £10 is only claimed once against the agreed social event. The contribution can only be claimed where a colleague has attended an event. Therefore, if a colleague decides not to attend, the contribution cannot be claimed separately by way of cash, gift, or another donation.
